Shar Pei

During the Communist Revolution in China, the Shar Pei population dwindled drastically, almost facing extinction. However, dedicated breeders in Hong Kong and America worked to revive the breed and ensure its survival.

In 1991, the Shar Pei was officially recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC), solidifying its place as a beloved and recognized breed worldwide.
