Their most striking feature is their extremely short and curly tail, which gives them the appearance of a toy bobtail rabbit. Toybobs come in a variety of colors and patterns, including brown tabby, chocolate, seal point, and blue.
Toybobs are very playful and affectionate cats that love to be around people. They are known for their sweet and gentle nature, and they make excellent companions for both families and individuals.
History of the Toybob Cat
The Toybob cat breed was developed in the United States in the early 1990s by a breeder named Carolyn Keirns. Keirns was inspired to create a cat breed that had the same playful and affectionate nature as a bobtail rabbit, but without the health problems that are common in that breed.
Keirns began her breeding program by crossing a Manx cat with a Japanese Bobtail cat. The resulting kittens had short, curly tails, but they also had some health problems. Keirns continued to breed the cats, and eventually she was able to develop a line of cats that were healthy and had the desired appearance.
The Toybob cat breed was recognized by The International Cat Association (TICA) in 1993.
