Step-by-Step Instructions

Has your cat missed the litter box? Here's how you can clean the mess from your carpet using common household items.

1. Remove the Bulk

  • First, put on gloves for hygiene.
  • Use a paint scraper or something similar to lift the poop onto a dustpan.
  • Wipe off any excess with a damp paper towel, trying not to spread it further.

2. Treat the Stain

  • Spray the stain with a pre-wash laundry stain remover. Look for one with 'Oxi-Action'.
  • Prepare a bucket of cold, soapy water using liquid dishwashing liquid.
  • Rub the stain with the soapy water and a cloth. Rinse the cloth often.
  • If needed, use a scrubbing brush for tough stains.
  • Repeat the spraying and scrubbing until the stain disappears.

3. Dry the Area

  • Use paper towels to absorb as much moisture as possible.
  • Place the towel on the area, tread on it until saturated, then replace with a fresh towel.
  • Repeat until little or no moisture remains.
